Design Dashboard

After creating a dashboard and determining the basic details, it's time to design the dashboard. This section provides the steps to design a custom dashboard for use in FOIAXpress. Follow the steps below to apply a custom dashboard design.

  1. Navigate to Administration > Dashboards:

  2. Select a Dashboard to design, then click Design. The Design screen displays as shown in the example below (this example uses a Three over Two design layout):

  3. Under Available Web Parts, all available widgets are listed. These are data points from across the application that may be useful for the dashboard being designed. To add one or more web parts to one of the available sections on the page, select one or more items under the Web Parts:

    NOTE: Adding multiple parts to one section will stack the web parts within the region of the dashboard

  4. After selecting one or more web parts, make a selection under the Add To field. The options here correspond to the various regions available on the dashboard, as seen below the Add to field:

  5. After making a selection under Add to, click Add.

  6. The web part(s) is then added to the layout example, showing in real time how the dashboard appears.

  7. Continue adding web parts to the various regions available on the dashboard layout until the design is complete, like in the following example:

  8. To remove individual web parts, click the Delete button on that web part.

  9. At any time, there is the option to reset the dashboard and clear all web parts, simply click Reset then click OK to clear the design.

  10. When the dashboard design is complete, click Back to return to the previous screen. Changes are saved automatically.
