The top Menu Bar allows you to execute file operations, including Save¸ Save As, Import, and Close:

Save and Save As

The Save and Save As features are described below:

Save

Saves the form by updating changes of previous version of the form. If the form is new, clicking the “Save” button pops up a new dialog for a name. The name must contain only letters, number, space and underscore and the name should not start with an underscore or a space. If the form name already exists, an error message will occur and you must entire a new unique name.

After saving successfully, the new name is displayed in the top menu bar.

Save As

Saves form as a new copy. Much like saving a new form with “Save”, you must enter a unique name

Import

The UI Designer allows you to import saved Case UIs in .zip format. The imported Case UI replaces any content in current Case UI, including data model, rule, web content and styles.

To import a Case UI package:

  1. Click Import. An Import tool pops up.

  1. Drag the .zip file and drop it in the Import area to import the package. The imported package is automatically validated by eCASE. If there is any format, form type, application and case type mismatches or content corruption, an error message is returned.

  1. Alternatively, click the blue Browse button to open up the default file explorer locate the .zip.

NOTE: eCASE also tests the existence of fields from the package in the Case Type. If a field is not found in a current Case Type, it would be set to a default field based on its binding control. This process does not return any error. Attachment Forms and Action forms cannot be imported.

Close

The Close button closes the UI Designer page and returns you to the App Designer page.
