The Search feature lists existing Requests in ATIPXpress. To find a Request, enter a keyword related to the Request you are searching for. The Search screen displays every Request that contains your search criteria.
For example, if you have used a wild card character such as "2013*" in the Request # field, all Requests with a Request number beginning with "2013" will populate. The asterisk symbol "*" represents āmissingā information.
The Search feature looks for objects that contain the search word in the file contents or custom fields. In the search field, enter a search string related to the object, such as the Request or Requester name, then click Search. The search string does not need to be a whole word. You can truncate the word by using an asterisk.
For example, when you search for data in ATIPXpress with the search string specific*, you will find the required data named "Technical Specification", because the title contains the string searched for.
There are two search functions: Search and Advanced Search. You can use advanced search criteria by selecting Advanced Search and displaying additional search fields. With advanced search, you can specify search criteria for the Request you are looking for. The more search criteria you use in the advanced search, the more likely you are to find the Request. Using this method, you can prevent the search from returning too many results.
Basic Search Rules
The basic rules for using full-text search are:
Search is not case-sensitive, so you can type your search in uppercase or lowercase characters.
You may search for any combination of letters (a-z) and numbers (0-9).
Punctuation marks such as the period, colon, semicolon, comma and hyphen are ignored during a search.
Wild Card Searches
ATIPXpress provides a way to explore the contents of the Request and Request attachment using user-defined queries. For example, users can search for the word "ATIP" in every Request and Request attachment that contains it. After searching, all references to the word will be listed in the search results.
You can search for a Request by entering a keyword or Request/Sub-Request description related to the Request you are searching for, then clicking Search. The Search screen will display every Request containing your search criteria.
Wild Card Searches can also be used to search for a complete phrase. For example, the query *administrative appeal* will find the Requests that exclusively contain the phrase "administrative appeal."
Alternatively, the following search combination can be used to find the same phrase:
* administrative * appeal * all requests with "* administrative *" followed by "* appeal *"
* appeal * administrative * all requests with "* appeal *" followed by "* administrative *"
