The Search feature allows you to search for information within the eCASE application. There are four methods that are used to search, as described in the table below. Use the table to choose the method that matches what you are looking for. Click the hyperlinks under the Section column below to move to the specific section:

Search from the Search bar at the top of any screen. Set the drop-down to Documents to find a document by a word it contains, or choose another type to find cases and folders the fastest way to look something up from anywhere in eCASE. | |
Find case folders using folder details and date ranges, with the option to save and reuse search criteria. | |
Find documents attached to case folders by the words or exact phrase they contain, file type, created date, or document properties such as file name and keywords. | |
Search the application by combining keywords with operations such as AND, NOT, and OR (available when enabled by your eCASE administrator). |
NOTE: To find documents containing a specific word or phrase, open Search Documents and use the Documents with fields. Select the exact phrase for an exact match, or All of these words to require every word. For a quick lookup, set Quick Search to Documents and enter your term in the Search bar.
