Product Enhancements

1.1 New Forensic Request to Assistance Type

We have introduced a new assistance type called Forensic Request under the Assistance tab, designed to function similar to the existing Assistance Request with a few enhancements.

A new dropdown field, Forensic Request Type, has been added and linked to the choice list of Investigation Forensic Request Type.

This list is initially empty, allowing customers to define their own values as needed.

The same field is also available for Assistance Requests but remains hidden by default and can be enabled through the Assistance Field Configuration under the Investigation Configuration folder.

Additionally, terminology settings have been provided to customize the field label, and all related fields for this request type can be managed through the Assistance Field Configuration. Workflow configurations for Forensic Requests can be set up under the Request Approval section within the Investigation Approvals tab.

1.2 Changes to the Assistance Rejection Approval Process

We have enhanced the Assistance Approval Configuration under the Investigation Configuration to provide greater flexibility in handling approval rejections.

Currently, approvals are configured based on the Type of Request and General Request, and rejections flow backward through each approval level until they reach the submitter.

With this update, a new configuration option allows administrators to choose the preferred rejection behavior, either to follow the existing step-by-step rejection flow or to send the request directly back to the submitter upon any level of rejection. This improvement helps streamline approval management, especially workflows where only the submitter performs the actual work, and approvers are limited to review actions.
