Edit and Delete Folders

Normal operations such as editing/deleting Folders can be performed directly from the navigation tree. Users can edit/delete any Folder where they have this Permission.

Steps to Edit Folder Details

  1. Click Document Management > Search Folders.

  2. Enter any necessary search criteria to locate the Folder you want to edit.

  3. Click Search.

  4. From the search results, select the checkbox to the left of the Folder you want to edit.

  5. Click Open Folders. The Folder will open in Document Management as shown below.

  1. Right-click the folder you want to edit, and then click Modify Folder Details. The Modify Folder Details window displays as shown below.

  1. Edit the Folder Properties as needed.

NOTE: Users with the required Permissions can modify Folder Declassification Information. Otherwise the fields are disabled and not editable.

  1. Click Update. A verification message displays as shown below.

  1. Click OK.

NOTE: If the following message appears, click Yes, select a review layer, click Load, and then repeat step 6

Steps to Delete a Folder

  1. Click Document Management > Search Folders.

  2. Enter any necessary search criteria to locate the Folder you want to delete.

  3. Click Search.

  4. From the search results, select the checkbox to the left of the Folder you want to delete.

  5. Click Open Folders. The Folder will open in Document Management as shown below.

  1. Right-click the Folder you want to delete, click Delete Folder, and then click OK when the confirmation message appears.

  2. If the folder is associated with a Review Log or a Request Folder, then a warning message will appear informing you of the same and restricting deletion. Click OK.

  3. In such an event, navigate to the request and select Add/Search/View Documents. Select the folder from Review Log Documents or Request Folder Documents and click Open Documents to open it in Document Management Control.

  1. Select the folder and click the X icon. Then select Remove from Review Log or Remove from Request Folder.

  1. Alternatively, right-click on the folder and select Remove from Review Log or Remove from Request Folder.

  1. Click OK on the confirmation message when it appears.

  2. Now, repeat steps 1 through 6 to delete the folder.
