File Cabinets

The Document Management tool uses a File Cabinet repository to catalog and index Request-related documents. The File Cabinet is broken down into four levels, as detailed in the table below:

Level

Description

File Cabinet Drawer

Drawers are the top-level category within the file cabinet, under which related folders are grouped.

Folder

Folders are sub-categories within File Cabinet Drawers. This is the second-level grouping under Drawers, and groups related sections. Pages can also be added directly to folders without using sections.

Section

Sections are further sub-categories within Folders, and are optional. Sections are populated with related pages.

Page

Pages contain actual document content. Page file types include native and redactable images

NOTE: You cannot delete a file cabinet drawer from the Document Management screen. To delete a section or a file cabinet drawer, go to Administration > Document Management > File Cabinet Drawers, highlight the row of the File Cabinet Drawer or Section you want to delete, and then click Delete. However, you cannot delete folders and sections that contain documents.
