The FOIAXpress application allows users to track and process a Request through the entire life cycle:

  1. When a request is received, the Requester's information is captured as shown in the Create New Requester screen below:

Form for creating a requester with mandatory fields and contact information sections.

  2. The FOIA Request is then logged using the Create New Request screen:

Form for creating a request with fields for details and attachments.

  3. Each Request is assigned to a user, and can be assigned and re-assigned on the Assign Request screen:
Request management interface showing current owners and users with options to change.

  4. If required for tracking purposes, a Request status can be set as "Perfected" on the Perfect Request screen:

Instructions for updating request status and comments in a tracking system interface.

  5. Documents can then be requested using the Request for Documents screen:

Form for requesting documents with fields for comments, dates, and dispatch options.

  6. Documents related to the Request can also be reviewed, indexed, redacted and more through the Document Management interface:

Document interface showing sections and highlighted notes for UFO crash details.

  7. When a Request-related document is finalized, it can then be added to the Request using Add Documents to Review Log the screen:

Interface for adding folders to a review log with selected options displayed.

  8. In order to finalize the Request, necessary actions can be taken on the Final Actions screen:

Document showing FOIA request details with granted disposition and action dates.

  9. Cost estimates for fulfilling the Request can be calculated using the Cost Estimation screen:

Cost sheet detailing various administrative fees and charges for services provided.

  10. Invoices are created using the Billing screen:

Invoice details including fees for clerical, professional, and computer services.

  11. Payments for Requests are disbursed using the Payments screen:

Payment details form showing invoice information and file upload section.

  12. Once all Request materials are finalized, they are submitted to the Requester using Document Delivery:

Document delivery options including requester information and formatting settings for final documents.

  13. When the Request is ready to close, this is completed using the Close Request screen:

Details of a closed request including balance, dates, and review status.
