About App Role Permissions

Permissions determine actions that can be taken within the application. When managing App Role Permissions, these permissions are divided into categories, accessible via tabs in the Grant Permissions screen.

From the App Designer (Settings > Applications > App Designer), click the App Roles option (under General), then select an existing App Role and click Permissions:

Users/Groups List

List of all users/groups granted permissions on the selected App Role.

Grant Users/Groups

Opens an item picker window where you can select multiple users and groups to grant App Role access.

Delete

Remove a selected user/group from this App Role

Show By

Ā·        All: Shows Users and Groups that have the role

Ā·        Users: Only shows Users that have the role

Ā·        Group: Only shows Groups that have the role

E

Filter By

Filters the list of Users/Groups shown based on what is inputted into the textbox

Managing Permissions Granted to App Roles

Follow the steps below to manage App Role permissions:

  1. Open the App Role configuration (Administration > Applications > App Designer > App Roles):

  2. Select an App Role from the list, then click Permissions. The Grant Permissions screen appears:

  1. Use the checkboxes to select all permissions that you’d like to grant to this App Role. Check all the available tabs for the various permissions available. You can also click Select All to grant all available permissions.

  2. When all applicable permissions are selected, click Apply Permissions to apply the selected permissions.
