FOIAXpress has the ability to integrate with the Veritone third-party application in order to enable redaction of video and audio files.

(!!) Note: A Veritone license is required to use the multimedia redaction feature.

Add Media to DM

Multimedia files are added to Document Management the same way standard documents are added. However, the Filing Cabinet folder must be set up to ingest these media files prior to uploading media to DM.

To enable adding media files to a Filing Cabinet folder in DM, when creating a new folder (Document Management > Create New Folder) be sure to select Native Format - Redaction Disabled as the Document Format, as shown in the following example:

Folders must be set to Native Format - Redaction Disabled in order to enable upload of multimedia files. Provided this format is selected for the destination folder, simply follow the standard process for adding to DM in order to upload multimedia files.

Media Redaction

After media is added to DM, simply select the media file from the Document Management folder. The media menu pops up as shown below:

There are several options available for media files. These are described in the following table:

Review Object

Description

Download Redacted File

Click to download the redacted file (as redacted from the third-party software). This option is only available after the file has been redacted and updated in FX.

Click Here to Redact this Media File

Click to send the file to the third-party application for redacting. The file will open in a new tab using the third-party application.

(!!) Note: Each time this option is selected, a new copy of this file is added to the third party repository.

Apply Redaction Codes

Select redaction codes to apply to this media file. On selecting this option, the Select Redaction Codes screen appears as shown below. Select applicable codes from the list, then click Select to apply:
