Scanning Pages

Prev Next

This topic discusses steps for scanning and re-scanning pages in Document Management.

You can scan Pages directly into the Document Management file structure to add Pages to a Folder. The ATIPXpress scan module receives the scanned image, allows you to save the scanned image, places the file in a directory on the local network, and assigns it to the Folder you have selected. The default scanning drivers installed with ATIPXpress are TWAIN drivers, an open standard interface that makes it possible to capture image data from a scanner or other input device. They are the most common drivers and compatible with almost every scanning machine.

NOTE: Scanning is done at the Folder/Section level (if applicable) and requires you to have the "Add/Insert Pages" File Cabinet Drawer Permission. The scanner must be configured to 300dpi. Pages cannot be scanned into a Folder where a review layer has been applied.

Users can set a default page orientation for scanning Pages into the application's scan interface.

Rescan Pages

The rescan procedure is used when the scanned image is of very poor quality and cannot be improved with the available Image Enhancement Techniques. Rescan will replace the original scanned document.
