User Interface - Add New Search Scope

To add a new custom Search Scope to your application:

  1. Navigate to the App Designer (Settings > Applications > App Designer), then click the Search Scopes option (under User Interface). The Add and edit search scopes screen appears:

  2. Click New. The New Search Scope screen appears.

  3. Enter a Search Scope Name. This name appears in the drop-down list when selecting a scope.

  4. Select a Scope Type. Options are:

Scope

Description

Folder

Narrow down search results to only folders, or folders under a specific case type

Contact

Narrow down search results to system contacts

Document

Narrow down search results to documents

  1. If you selected Contact or Document in the previous step, move to step If you selected Folder in the previous step, see step 6 below.

  2. Select a Folder Scope from the drop-down list. Options are All¸ or you can opt to narrow it down by Case Type. If you select Case Type, see step 7 below. Otherwise move to step 8.

  3. Select a Case Type for the search scope from the drop-down list.

  1. Click Create to create the new search scope. The scope now appears on the Search Scope List and is available to users.
