The Workflow Designer Toolbar allows you to perform operations such as saving the current workflow, importing and exporting a workflow, printing the current workflow, validation, and adding roles. The Toolbar is highlighted in the following example, and the various tools are detailed in the table below:

Ref | Tool | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|---|
A | Print the workflow | ||
B | Export and Import | Export: Export the workflow as a .json file. You can only export a workflow that is successfully validated. Import: Import a workflow into the application. Only workflows with a .json file type can be imported. |
C | Save As | Choose a name for your workflow. You can only save a workflow that passes validation. If you have already saved your workflow, Save As will save another copy of the workflow. This is helpful if you want to make a variation on an existing workflow without changing the original. |
D | Save | Save: Opens the Save As window, if you have not given the workflow a name. Once the workflow has a name, you can continually save the workflow under the selected name. You can only save a workflow that passes validation. This workflow is automatically synched to eCASE. If you were editing an existing workflow, you do not need to enter a new name. Rather, the workflow will still be saved and synched to eCASE, but eCASE will save the new edited workflow with a new version number. *Note: A new version will be added only if there is already a folder associated to the previous version of the workflow. |
E | Validate | Once you have constructed your workflow, you can validate the workflow by clicking the Validate button. Any errors that are discovered during validation will be listed, with details on what needs to be done to fix the errors. If validation is successful, the user will be notified of successful validation through a prompt: |
F | Roles | Manage the roles available to this workflow. See the Workflow Roles section for details on assigning roles. |
