Lock and Unlock Review Layer

Locking a review layer prevents the document from being reviewed again. No review actions can be performed on a document for which a review layer is saved and has been locked.

Steps to Lock a Review Layer

  1. After loading a review layer as explained in Load Review Layer, add or modify redactions to your document as necessary, as explained in Redacting Pages.

NOTE: If you added or modified redactions, save the review layer as explained in Save Review Layer.

  1. Right-click the Folder containing the review layer you want to lock. A menu displays as shown below.

  2. Click Lock Review Layer. A verification message displays as shown below.

  3. Click OK. A confirmation message displays as shown below.

    Warning message indicating that 'Test Layer 2' is locked and cannot be reviewed.

  4. Click OK. The review layer will be locked.

Steps to Unlock a Review Layer

  1. Right-click the Folder containing the led review layer. A menu displays as shown below.

  2. Click Unlock Review Layer. A verification message displays as shown below.

  3. Click OK. A confirmation message displays as shown below.

    Notification indicating that the review layer 'Test Layer 2' has been unlocked.

  4. Click OK. The review layer will be unlocked.

Note: Review layers can only be unlocked by the user who initially locked the layer, or by users with the Unlock Any Review Layer permission for the parent file cabinet drawer. If you do not see the Unlock Review Layer option when right clicking the drawer, you do not have permissions to unlock the layer.
