The Security Settings Module allows you to configure the eCASE application security fields. You can use the default values or customize your own settings.
Navigate to Settings > System Configuration > Security Settings.

The Security Settings module displays:

You can edit the following fields and select Save when done editing to keep your security changes:
Security Field | Description |
Default Values Checkbox | Select this checkbox for the Security Settings to be configured to the default security settings. Uncheck the box to use custom settings. |
Password never expires | Select this box to make sure passwords never expire and never need to be reset |
Passwords are valid for | Enter the number of days you would like passwords to be valid for before they need to be reset due to expiration |
Remind User | Enter the number of days before the password expiration that you would like the user to be reminded to reset their password |
Do not allow reuse of last | Enter the amount of previous passwords used that cannot be reused when creating a new password |
Password can contain up to | Enter the amount of repeating characters a password can contain |
Minimum password length | Enter the minimum length of a password users can create |
Password must contain at least | Enter the amount of Upper Case letters a password will require |
Password must contain at least | Enter the amount of Lower Case letters a password will require |
Password must contain at least | Enter the amount of Special Characters a password will require |
Password must contain at least | Enter the amount of Numeric Characters a password will require |
Require Temporary Password Update after Login | Select this box to require temporary passwords to be updated when a user logs in using a temporary password |
Login Fails after | Enter the amount of attempts a user will have to login before the account is locked |
User Account Inactivation | Select this box to enable user account inactivation |
Inactive User Account after | Enter the number of days of non-usage of the application that an account needs to exceed to be inactivated |
Session time out after | Enter the number of minutes for a session to time out |
Alert user before Session expires for | Enter the amount of minutes prior to log-out that the user is alerted for before his or her session times out |
NOTE: Maximum password length is 16 characters. Total password length constitutes of upper case, lower case letters and special, numeric characters.
